It is only a human thought to believe that the world would be a better place without war and without sickness; it should be a society of harmony. There is a natural hope that despite any differences, the world can come together and overcome all obstacles. Though this goal may seem unrealistic, there are certain steps that can be taken that will bring mankind one step closer to peace. One major step to take is to eliminate racism. After breaking down the different groups of the human race, it is found that there are more similarities than there are differences. Mankind wants to live in a world of peace, and part of being in a societ y in harmony is individuals being tolerant of each other. Not only would ending racism teach people the importance of diversity and respecting other people, but it would also help eliminate violence and make the world a safer place. The world is a multicultural society, and racism divides communities and devalues individuals no matter their effort to fit into society. There are certain things that we cannot change about ourselves, so it is important to end racism, to accept people as they are, and to help create a humane society. Like bullying or domestic violence, racism occurs in cycles. Once it starts, other people start to believe it is okay, but parents have the opportunity to reverse the cycle and influence the next generation to be completely interracial. Some people would argue that because teenagers are notorious for peer pressure, that any effort parents put towards ending the issue of racism wouldn’t have a lasting effect on a child. Peers will influence kids to do and say things they wouldn’t under normal circumstances.
